Welcome to the official site of the DuncanAfrica Society.
If there’s one thing we’re passionate about, it’s the eradication of poverty.

We are going into the village of Mpigi, Uganda for eight years. We’ll teach guitar-making and a host of other subjects. Fifty young people will graduate; from their own company and export to developed nations.

They will become agents of change in their village. Foreign aid will no longer be needed because their hard work, diligence and dedication to serving other will transform the community.

We are simply a spark to ignite the process.

* August 27th. Its been a busy month for DA as Jay and the Directors continue to raise peoples awareness of the society.

David and Isaac are continuing to make guitars in Uganda, and at present 12 are on the go! Many of them already have deposits on them which is amazing. The guys over there have been doing an amazing job and Jay is so so proud of them. On the photos page you can see some of the latest developments!

There have been a number of donations coming in which have been greatly appreciated, although the target required has not yet been reached.

* June 18th. Jay is back in the country! The DA Banquet went well and all of the African guitars brought back have been sold. If you click on the blog you can find out the latest news from Jay and some pics of David and Isaac at work over in Africa.

* May 8th. Jay is heading home after being in Africa for about three months. He returns with 4 guitars hand made in Africa. The DA Fundraising Banquet is now rapidly approaching (24th May). It will be a night of food, fun, music and the guitars brought back with Jay will be auctioned off. Tickets are $25 and well worth the money. If you would like some then please email info@duncanafrica.com. We are also looking for volunteers for the night (there will be a free meal included in that if you fancy volunteering!).

More pictures are also up on the photos page.

* April 8th. Keep your eyes posted on the blog as the guitars are really taking shape. The countdown is on to get them completed over the coming months and you will be able to see them at the fundraiser in May. Plans for this will soon be announced soon and it will be worth keeping the night free.
